Michael J. Prince, PhD, is Associate Professor of American Literature and Culture at the University of Agder, Kristiansand, Norway. His research areas include literature, film and music since 1950. His publications include works on Frank Zappa, Philip K. Dick, William S. Burroughs, and Alan Moore. His current project is "Autheniticity, Irony and Satire from the Post-War to the Postmodern" in which he focusses on types and intensities of irony, parody, and intertextuality in the Beats, selected Black Humor authors, New Journalism, and the Post-Ironists. He has arranged conferences on American Studies (2008), and "The Authenticity Project" (2010), and a panel on satire (2011).
